Alice is an illustrator and visual artist from London. As an intersectional feminist she aims to bring about political change through social commentary and a sense of humour. She works heavily with text and hand drawn typography, tackling issues of injustice and oppression through bright colour palettes juxtaposed against the often serious and dark subject matter she explores.

As a cartoonist in residence for 1215 Today, Alice produced a weekly cartoon in response to world news alongside hot topics identified by the site’s editorial team.

  • The tampon tax has always been a bitter pill to swallow. Then a couple of months ago it was announced that organisations that work with disadvantaged girls and women could apply for funding from the tax. Although it still felt unjust that essentially women would have to fund these things it was still progress. However it has emerged this week a charity 'Organisation Life' has been awarded a quarter of a million pounds. 'Organisation life' is an anti-abortion and anti-choice charity, a group that is known to use scaremongering and terminology such 'the death penalty' when referring to ending a pregnancy. As Suzanne Moore so aptly put it 'Women’s bodies are taxed for simply functioning and then this money is given to those who would restrict what we can do with them'
