The tampon tax has always been a bitter pill to swallow. Then a couple of months ago it was announced that organisations that work with disadvantaged girls and women could apply for funding from the tax. Although it still felt unjust that essentially women would have to fund these things it was still progress. However it has emerged this week a charity 'Organisation Life' has been awarded a quarter of a million pounds. 'Organisation life' is an anti-abortion and anti-choice charity, a group that is known to use scaremongering and terminology such 'the death penalty' when referring to ending a pregnancy. As Suzanne Moore so aptly put it 'Women’s bodies are taxed for simply functioning and then this money is given to those who would restrict what we can do with them'
